Legal marketing experience:
- A decade as Marketing Partner and Chief Marketing Officer of 500-lawyer Steptoe & Johnson LLP in Washington, DC
- Eight years as Chairman and Managing Partner of 500-lawyer Shaw Pittman (now merged to be Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman) during a time of rapid growth and strategic repositioning
- Induction into the College of Law Practice Management in 2003, based on contributions involving the use of technology and strategic market positioning
- Service on the Legal Advisory Board of Martindale-Hubbell/Lexis Nexis
- Chairing the International Bar Association's Committee on Information Technology
- Authoring an influential early paper on LPM (Project Management: What Law Firms Can Learn From The Big Five) presented at the IBA Annual Meeting in New Delhi in 1997
